Just plug me in and feed me grapes in a virtual world made of Katherine Elizabeth Uptons. Because we can't be trusted with our own fickle emotions. This is why the robots will eventually take over. Because that's the thing now, right? We love artists for a set amount of time and then we turn on them for doing the same things we used to admire them for. So all those who are all of a sudden turned off by his cockiness stand a good chance of seeing him eat some crow. And you know what? I feel like Punk's going to be (somewhat) humble in UFC.

Though there's currently no TNA TV mechanism in place to help hype them (they're still in it after all this time - yes, I basically fast-foward through each episode now to see if they've been eliminated). It's kind of like how I started watching The Amazing Race for the first time because TNA's Robbie and Brooke were/are on it this season. With all the kicking and the punching and the roundhousing and such. I'm going to now be watching CM Punk's first UFC fight some time next year. I won't know what any of the announcers are talking about but Punk will be there so it'll have my eyes. But I will watch the hop f***ing hell out of a CM Punk UFC match.

I want to watch, you know, whatever it is that wrestling is (art, stunt work, storytelling, pageantry, what have you). I'm actually one of those people who believes it when someone says that UFC isn't competition for pro-wrestling. I'll leave the denouncements and negativity up to those who've actually seen a UFC bout. His wrestling expertise seemed to come from an innate desire to be better than people think he should be. Which is what he seems to like doing more than anything else really. But if he wins, then he gets to prove critics wrong. Because if he loses, it'll just be what most people seem to expect. Will Punk succeed? Some say he already has.

It's something he wants to do and it's something he wants to do well. Anyhow, Punk has decided to enter a totally new field, entering in on the bottom level of the UFC. Naturally, there hasn't been a single death in the Octogon, while wrestling - sadly - can't claim the same. So just a few weeks after Punk spoke about how Vince McMahon was appalled that the UFC allowed women to fight one another and feared that someone might die in the Octagon someday, Punk set off on his new life journey as an MMA fighter. Time to make a quiche using only my feet. Watch me do origami with mittens on, everyone. Now it's time for me to fumble through a conversation about UFC. The whole "all I want to do in life is be a pro-wrestler" dream is very dangerous now that there's really only one major game in town. I'm not saying it should be a "lunatics running the loony bin" scenario, but people should be prepared to lose their job with the WWE if they believe in something strongly. But if the entire locker room stood up for themselves and their booking and their characters just half as much as Punk did - seeing value in themselves and feeling confident in their self-worth - things would be very different from how they are right now. He was out the door when they lured him back with the expectation, on both sides, of doing great, huge main event things. He could act the way he acted because with the WWE it was always "take it or leave it." I mean, he was gone. He was a fan, sure, but not one who'd ever let his childhood adoration keep him from complaining. Because they're afraid of being punished AND because they're all WWE superfans who've dreamed of working for the company in any capacity since they were little kids. Punk made a big point in the first podcast about guys being too scared to speak up or take a chance. We knew where he saw himself, and how he saw himself. And the thing is, we all knew this about him. Of course they'd be happy to be in the spot he was in, but he wasn't. So he rubbed people the wrong way with his words. As we can probably assume, there are many who'd kill for those particular spots. About not being in the main event even though he still had a match with Undertaker. About possibly working with Triple H at 'Mania. Now the word is that the "boys" weren't happy with the way Punk complained about his position. As a locker room who probably deals with frustrating, stifling creative conditions on a daily basis, they felt a bit of relief that someone outed a big part of it. YES NOLast week, the buzz was that most everyone who wasn't Triple H more or less loved that Punk came out with all the backstage dirt and the politics and the whatnot.
